The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is a retro-styled roadster or naked that sits on the same engine and frame as its cousin the Continental GT 650. The Super Meteor 650 has a completely different chassis, but the same engine. The Interceptor 650 is the least expensive motorcycle of the range. From the Continental GT, the big differences are in the handlebars, seat design and peg position which creates a comfortable, more or less upright riding position. This combines very well with a torquey engine that makes going slow lovely and going faster as easy as opening the throttle more. The general weakness of the Interceptor experience is the suspension which is on the soft side and faster riders will definitely want the forks and twin shocks to feel more controlled. These are generally reliable and the new alloy wheel models are the ones to get, the hassle of tubed tyres in 2023 is for non regular riders as far as we are concerned. In this FAQ series, we're taking a close look at the Interceptor 650.
