How To Build SIMPLE DIY STORAGE SHELVES

In this video I’ll show how I built our garage storage shelves. Scroll below to see the material list as well as two options for dimensions.

MATERIAL LIST
13 - 8’ 2x4s
2 - 4’x8’ sheets of 1/2” or thicker particle board or plywood

One small box each of:
2.5” wood screws
3” wood screws
1.5” wood screws

MY DIMENSIONS
I designed this shelf to hold my storage containers that are H15” x L28.5 x W19.5. I plan to hang 80” sliding doors from the shelves so their 82” height was designed with that in mind. If you’re interested in the dimensions on my shelf they are:
Height 82”
Length 86”
Shelf depth 22”
Shelf spacing 20.5” on center

ECONOMIC DIMENSIONS
If you don’t have specific dimensional needs, the must efficient and economical way to built this shelf would be:
Height 8’
Length 8’
Shelf depth 24’
Shelf spacing 20.5” on center
