I played guitar for nearly 20 years and this is the best explanation I've ever seen of this I was obviously skeptical of 5-minute learning but this guy's for real
I just started learning to play the guitar after decades of drenching myself in music and deciding that I could not go to my grave without knowing how to play, if not to play the guitar well. I have just over two weeks under my belt and for sure I'm just a beginner. Thank you very much Tony. I have eight chords, one scale, one finger picking lesson, and four callouses that I have learned and earned thus far. Much of this, thanks to you. Please keep doing what you are doing.
Tony, thanks so much for your videos! I've been playing guitar for about 16 years but only started taking it seriously in the last 5 years or so. I am self taught, could never afford lessons, so I have some bad habits that have really hindered my progress and playing. Since watching your how-to videos, my playing has increased dramatically and I'm excited to learn guitar for the first time in a long time. Thanks for passing that passion along!
I’m late to the party, but just want to say as a 30 year experienced guitar player that is teaching his 12 year old son how to play currently. This is the best finger style lesson I’ve seen all my years. Clear and exact. Perfect intro to fingerpicking.
As a seasoned guitar player for over 40 years working professionally and as a serious hobbyist this is the most helpful finger picking demo on the internet. I've used nothing but a pick in those decades and now finally getting around to finger picking. Thank you.
awesome video! I love that the instruction begins immediately after you press play. No blah, blah, blah, like/subscribe, blah, blah, blah for 3 minutes. Nope, he literally starts teaching in the very 1st second of the video. Thank you!
Excellent video! Clear explanations and good close-ups of the technique( many videos don't do that). I have only had a guitar for a month now, so this might be a bit advanced for me, but it is encouraging enough to keep me motivated. Thanks so much for your instruction.
Thanks Tony, great exercises, I’ve been trying to get on top of finger picking for a while now. I’ve got about 8 maybe 10 ten patters reasonably sorted. Tried these exercise, a bit of a challenge to get smooth, accurate and at a reasonable tempo. Great lesson. I’ll .org this one into the daily practise. TimC
Thank you Tony... We go around as beginners to find simple teachers. Found you and I'm feeling motivated. Thanks...
This is a fantastic video, straight to the point and I could spend all day just practicing this in different ways. I love there's not even an intro, no BS at all.
Thank you for the explanation, as a beginner I think you are right to start earlier than later.
That was an excellent exercise on finger picking for a beginner. it enabled me to follow it, plus I liked the fact that you got the camera to zoom in to get a closer look at the individual fingers on each string.
i like. i am going to keep watching this till i get it . AWESOME! wish i had this 30 years ago
This guy is the real deal he is an excellent teacher and an amazing player his fingerstyle is so refined he flows great !! Ik this was 6 yrs ago but thank you so much I’ve never done fingerpicking but been wanting to learn and you taught this so clear🙏🏽
This is where it gets hard.....lots of practice.
thanks for this. i’ve been stuck on strumming since 2017 when i first picked up a guitar because picking seemed so daunting. now that i’ve tried a basic finger pick, i feel a lot more comfortable knowing how simple it is
Brilliant tutorial as a late learner this was very useful thank you🤘
