This song takes me back a few decades now; back to my first real love whose name was Ann. I can’t listen to this beautiful song without sobbing like baby. I wonder where she is today. I love my wife dearly and our wonderful children and grandchildren, but when I hear this song how I would love to be that young man again, just to hold Ann once more and smell her hair, give one last kiss, and then drift back to now to the ones I love today. David , when i first heard this tune i used to sing it with the name phil. A lot of folks wanted this song. It got very popular. You have always had a gorgeous voice. Maybe some day you can go on paltalk and sing live. Would be awesome.

My wife's name is Ann. I call her Annie, which her Dad used to, and she prefers that. If I ever called her Ann, she'd think I was ill! We've been married for thirty years, and it's impossible for me to say how much she means to me. I wonder how she'd feel if I ever sang this song to her!
