Idk why but this made me think of an older 2D story game where you pick between two characters and you're driving through an apocalypse only hearing the chosen characters thoughts EDIT: THIS TOOK ME SO LONG TO FIND CUZ IT'S SUCH A RANDOM GAME GENRE Mithzan on youtube has both paths but the game is called "the shadows that run alongside our car"
