that has got to be the worst way of conceptualizing AGI possible. It's actually comically bad. Heck, if that's AGI - then we essentially have that already. AGI means that if your work involves staring at a computer screen...then AGI has just made you unemployed. ASI comes shortly after AGI, which is the end of captialism...because they'll be life changing breakthroughs occuring faster than we can wrap our heads around. Imagine you're living in 1600 and on oct.20th you get the telegraph, 21st the telephone, 22nd the smartphone, 23rd the internet, 24 the car, 25th the airplane, 26th.... you get the point...that's what ASI will bring...& my guess is that it won't be long after we've achieved AGI that we'll see ASI. The question isn't -when can I have an AI that can read my emails and make suggestions. The question is what economic system do we need to switch to for the future that is rapidly coming. If we don't change, they'll be the relative trillionaires and the homeless....no one in between.

What he's describing is something that requires such an understanding of the tasks that it would necessarily be able to do the tasks. Anything less and you end up in the "would you trust the recommendations" zone.

I find it funny how these people pretend that the word AGI is not defined. Yes it is. And everyone knows what the term means. AGI is general purpose artificial intelligence that can do any work on your behalf.
