Start on whatever guitar you can afford
Learned to bar an F chord on a classical nylon as a kid. 30 years later when I started playing guitar it came in handy
Started with a classical at 7 years old, 5 years later got my first electric and it was like heaven, no more struggles with bar chords and fret shortages 😂
What genre do you want to play? Play the guitar that can do it.
Start in the acoustic because if your good on the acoustic you’re good on every guitar
I’m not telling anyone what to get or not to get. Get which ever one makes you feel excited. But I have been playing classical guitar for almost 12 years and it has taught me so so so many useful thing that made learning acoustic and electric very easy. I believe that it is a great foundation for every genre just so that you know proper technique. But in the end, choose which ever you want and have fun with it.
I started on acoustic, but if I did it all again I would start on th classical guitar. It teaches you so many great techniques that be used for any type of guitar playing.
Started on classical, with a teacher, and played for like a year then quit Then 6 years later picked up my dad’s accoustic bc i wanted to play songs i liked (a whole lot of system of a down) but didn’t have electric guitar. Rip fingers, my parents say its generally a guitar that’s harder on the fingers than normal for whatever reason, but its fine it was downtuned most the time anyway Then about 5 months after painfully playing that i got an electric guitar. Suddenly barre chords are 100% easier, the strings are softer, metal sounds like metal and i think i reignited my dad’s passion for metal and drums. He always wanted to be a drummer and now bought a nice drum kit for my brother that he also plays. We have had some little jams already. We both like grindcore and stuff so thats fun.
I remember when I was a kid. I walked into the store with my dad, thinking a classical guitar would be the best choice to start my journey. After a few minutes, I started to get interested in acoustics. An hour later, I walked out of the store with an Asian copy of James Hetfield's ESP and a Peavey amp that sounded like a hornet's nest, but hey, I'm 45 and when I play the riff from Enter Sandman, I still get the same smile as when I was a kid. Thanks dad.
Acoustic is great for sharing music with people and creating genuine connection and giving but the electric is the best to play on hands down
You’re so right about the fingers for acoustic. I learned bass at first and eventually wanted to try guitar, got an acoustic off market place and kinda didn’t like it. I practiced though and got better till one day I tried my friend’s electric guitar, and my first words were “oh wow im never touching my acoustic again”😂😂
If you're a kid then classic because nylon strings, if you are an adult start with electric because it's easier to play due to flat body but if you are lack of a budget then start on acoustic because you don't need an amp to play
As soon as I heard the electric guitar play that chord, I immediately hummed You Shook Me All Night Long intro xD, I love rock...
You should start on the bass
Start on whatever you want to play. Don't even think about starting at something because it's "eAsiEr" and transition to what you want to play afterwards because THAT DOESN'T WORK.
I already bought the acoustic so I'll learn, can't complain when you have nothing to compare it to.
I personally think start with the acoustic and after playing it for a couple of years buy an electric because the strings on the electric will feel way softer. That is what I did.
Nothing beats the good old high string 38inch acoustic guitar from a weird name brand
Most people should probably start on the acoustic guitar so they can learn basic tabs(without bends) chords and can learn bar chords on harder strings. This stenthens your fingers then when you get confident with this you can either keep going on acoustic or switch to another style and learn different techniques
