Ant expert here, from my very detailed observations and year long experience as an Antist, I can most definately say, yes, your ants are licking each other

@cormacsmall9442

To answer your question about what the ants are doing to each other, they are cleaning plastic strands off each other.

If you look closely at the nest there is some very fine stringy plastic left behind from the printing process. If you look in the entrance hole of a nest they are usually pretty obvious. They are easily cleared by hitting them with a flame and then maybe giving the inside of the nest a wipe with a cloth to remove the leftover bits of plastic.

I almost liked the video before Bob made it to the new nest. Glad I waited so I could show Bob my support.

@Qermaq

"I remember it like it was yesterday, which is not a good thing because it was today." MERCH that onto a mug or a shirt.

@davidhowell2456

I love your dry wit and sarcasm! The videos are also very educational as well as entertaining, so please keep up the great work! You’re quite possibly the most underrated YouTuber on the platform.

@thomasnesmith5426

"I remember it like it was yesterday. Which is bad because it was today". Absolutely killed me. So funny lol.

@kylecorcoran310

they are cleaning themselves and each other because fungus grows on them then will kill them and that's why they clean each other and they also clean there mandibles/antennas because that's how they get around the nest and communicate with the other ants of the colony and it has some sort of pheromone that produces something to tell that they are from that colony so that's why they do what they was doing they was cleaning themselves.

@ANTVNNO1

You have a lovely colony of ants. To me they are a species that cooperates and coordinates extremely well with each other. And I own about 20 ant colonies of all kinds from other countries. It's really wonderful to see them

@FizzleFX

8:10 since those hoses usually hang 5mm in the air I put a small sloped rock 'ramp' right in front.
I also used a bit of hot glue to secure the hose inside and outside (just half a circle so it keepts the hose from slipping further in/out ruining my ramp)
It helps ants greatly to bring stuff home AND if you want to limit the size of food being brought home you can make the ramp tall enough to cover 50% of the entrance.
Mine tried bringingback entire crickets but couldn't fit it - so they ad to take it apart/eat it outside. It can help with nests being a bit cleaner overall.

@spookaychoco2860

"The results from that study were very interesting... Cause that sh"t didn't work" lol

@birdcow7742

genuinely one of my favorite channels on this site

@AntsGlobal

Its been so nice to see this colony grow over the last year, and it even inspired me to buy my own! they died in hibernation but that might just be a skill issue

@Tangarine_Mandarin

Always a blast when you upload!

@Fergus_1

This video makes me want to name my first child Bob

@bruhbruh9895

Alteranative Title: My queen moved away and took the kids and now wants child support.

@davewilson9738

@Untergraben

Always look forward to your droll style and dad jokes!

@portajohn521

I have to say, after watching most of your videos, I have a new view on ants! I sit outside and watch them sometimes as they're really quite interesting! Thank you, sir!

@blueturtle-vb7jd

You have a very relaxing voice! I could listen to you read the newspaper. I like your videos. Your jumpy spider is really cute and the ants are cool! Hugs from turtle. 🐢
