The only album by the band from Champaign, Illinois, formed in 1963. In the mid-1960s, Champaign became the epicenter of the regional music explosion and a mecca for professional musicians. The Finchley Boys won over many fans by playing shows on college campuses and local clubs. They then toured Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri, Ohio, and played in New York, Toronto, and San Francisco. In 1970, the band played the Kickapoo Creek Rock Festival with Canned Heat, B.B. King, and Delaney & Bonnie. At their concerts, the band staged a theatrical performance with a live boa constrictor (and this was five years before Alice Cooper). The album was recorded from autumn 1968 to summer 1969 at Chicago's Chess Studios and Golden Voice Studios, but was only released in 1972... In 1993, the album was reissued on the Eva Records label with the addition of bonuses and previously unreleased tracks. There is an opinion that the first recordings were made as demos to attract attention and involve famous companies to advertise their group. "Everlasting Tributes" is a gorgeous album in the unique style of this quartet. Guitar playing of soloist Garrett Oostdyk constantly surprises the listener and keeps him in rock-blues emotional tension throughout the album. And we must also remember that this release is a rare rarity and is especially appreciated by fans of the blues rock style.
